Waxwings!

I read somewhere that some of our migratory birds use I-95 to orient themselves.  Whether or not this is true, a large flock of cedar waxwings arrived right on schedule this past week.  You could amost set your watch—or rather your calendar—by them.     If there’s a Zagat or Fodor’s for birds, I have a feeling that our holly trees and pyrocantha bushes would get four stars.

Here’s what our holly tree looked like the day before they arrived.  See all the berries?

Here’s what it looked like the day after.  See any berries?

Spring officially arrived on the 20th, but for us, it came four days earlier.  Can tulips and daffodils be far behind?
